The Rumpus Room: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; The Rumpus Room is garage in Maribyrnong (Melbourne's inner West - ja, so zeitgeist) that's turned into an arts space one Saturday a month for 8 months of the year. It offers visual artists and performance artists a space (free-of-charge) in which to simply come play. It seeks to create an interval for the development of experimental and unresolved work so that the artist and their work can engage with peer and audience response. Remaining true to the definition of rumpus room, The Rumpus Room is all about mucking around with stuff, ideas, having fun and playing. Suburban garages are the new black.
